The design and Animation are definitively cute.Behind it I could not help it... There is some special technology. The body deformations are driven by some nurbs ribbons that behave more or less like muscles. The deformations was composed like pictures layers using dynamic blend shapes. The blendshapes influence was painted using skeleton joints to ensure a normalized influence avoiding overshoot deformations. It was working pretty good but I didn't had time to push the idea further.
